The Sauvignon Gris and Sauvignon Blanc grapes are ready to begin with the 2008 harvest season at Cousiño Macul.
Everything is ready and set at the Buin and Macul estates to start with the harvest season. This week we will start gathering the fruits of a long and hard working process.
Our winemakers have been taking care of every detail in the development of the vines. “Every week we taste the grapes in the fields and have made analysis to determine the ripeness development of the white grapes. By that way we assure to start the harvest season in the correct moment”, explains Rosario Palma, Cousiño Macul’s oenologist.
This 2008 harvest season will start with one week delay compared to last year. “The growing season was dry, fresh and long, which delayed the sprout of the vines for around two weeks in comparisson to a normal year. The Summer has had moderate temperatures and no rain, which has allowed a normal ripening of the grapes”, says Rosario.
The winemaking team assures the quality of this 2008 harvest will be even better than last year’s. “The grapes look very healthy and will produce the expected amounts”.
