During August, Arturo Cousiño, President of the Company, and Matías Rivera, Chief Winemaker, visited Cousiño-Macul’s most distant importer, Meenan Wines, located in New Zealand’s Southern island. This place is situated in the same latitude of the Chilean Patagonia, near the edge of our country.
The purpose of this trip was to know better the market as well as the development of the wine production in New Zealand. After the visit, our Chief Winemaker assured this country’s Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling were outstanding. “These varieties have a wonderful development in New Zealand, especially because its climate is very favourable for this vines. It was a very interesting experience from where I learned a lot”.
