During the first days of August a strong polar wave reached Chile causing snowfalls from Santiago to the South. This unusual climatic phenomenon for the Chilean Central Valley also reached our Macul estate, covering its vineyards with a thick layer of snow for almost a day.
The good news are that “the snow will not affect our production, nor the quality of our wines, because the plants were still dormant”, assured our Chief Winemaker, Matías Rivera.
Below, some images of the Macul estate under the snow.
