Antiguas Reservas, our high-end line of wine, welcomes a new member, the 2005 Merlot. A special name used sparingly by the winery, Antiguas Reservas debuted in 1927 and is now a trademarked designation for the winery’s deluxe line. With this change, Merlot joins the elite team of Antiguas Reservas Cabernet Sauvignon and Antiguas Reservas Chardonnay.

States Matias Rivera, Head Winemaker: “After many years of work and improvements in the vineyard, by 2005 everything fell into place for the Merlot to be promoted to “Antiguas” status. The wine is deeply coloured, with intense varietal fruit and the mouth-coating flavours that are hallmarks of Merlot.”
