Cousiño-Macul was awarded a gold medal for its Doña Isidora Riesling 2004 at the second annual Wines of Chile Awards,. This competition organized by Wines of Chile was judged by nine English judges headed by Oz Clarke, who tasted more than 600 Chilean wines and awarded only 8 gold medals.
Representing the Cousiño-Macul team, Head winemaker Matías Rivera gratefully received the prize. He suggested the vineyards of the Alto Maipo will offer much more to talk about in the future.
Arturo Cousiño, President of the family winery, also expressed his satisfaction for the award and explained, "Many Chilean producers are making great advances with white wines and we are very proud of our results.”
