MAGNUM French magazine, published by Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve, remark in its second edition a list in which Cousiño Macul is named as one of the best chilean wineries. The magazine named Cousiño Macul, as “a pioneer vineyard in the viticultue of quality in Chile. This is because during the nineteenth century Matias Cousiño, founder of the vineyard, who was a passionate by the wines of Bordeaux, had the idea of planting Cabernet Sauvignon in the Maipo Valley. He brought plants from Medoc. His good intuition allowed his descendants to produce a unique wine of excellent quality Among the wines that publication highlights are Antiguas Reservas Chardonnay 2013; Don Matías Cabernet Sauvignon, the emblematic wine of Cousiño Macul and the icon Lota.
